The latest issue of the journal “Latvijas Arhīvi” (2026/1) has been released. It comprises seven scientific articles—source-based publications covering diverse aspects of Latvian history spanning from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th century.

The new issue of the journal comprises the following articles: Guntis Vāveris “Documents of the Press and Associations Depart­ment of the Ministry of Public Affairs in the Latvian State Historical Archives of the National Archives of Latvia: Systematization Scheme and Types of Records of the Fund no. 3724”; Liene Rokpelne “The 1434 Feudal Charter Concern­ing Rights to Lands around Lake Burtnieks”; Mihails VolohovsRelatio visitationis Livoniae: Giovanni Maria Belletti’s Report on the Apostolic Visitation of Livonia (1611)”; Ēriks Jēkabsons “Class Affiliation and Latvians in the Russian Empire in the Second Half of the Nineteenth Century–1917: The Nobility”; Līga Lapa “Destruction of Manors and Peasant Farms during the Revolution of 1905”; Tālis Pumpuriņš “The Latvian National Democratic Party during the Formation of the Latvian State: From the Idea of Latvian State Independence to a Parliamentary Republic, 1917–1918”; Rasa Pārpuce-Blauma “Anti-German Measures” and “German Collections”: Cultural Monuments of National Significance in Latvia in the 1930s”.

The section “Archives Today” offers a comprehensive overview of the current institutional advancements, international engagements, and recent projects of the National Archives of Latvia. The current issue introduces readers to the album collection “The Life of Latvian Refugees in Camps in Germany (1945–1949)”, of the National Archives of Latvia, included in the Latvian National Register of UNESCO’s Programme “Memory of the World”. Additionally, this section examines the interactive educational activity “Audiovisual Documents in Source Research”, developed by the Latvian State Archive of Audiovisual Documents of the National Archives of Latvia. Furthermore, it details the representation of the National Archives of Latvia within the Photographic and Audiovisual Archives Expert Group of the International Council on Archives.

The journal “Latvijas Arhīvi” is published by the National Archives of Latvia and the Association of Latvian Archivists with the support of the State Culture Capital Foundation.
